SDS Global Logistics Enters into Management Agreement with Global Delivery Systems, Increasing Worldwide Presence
July 2, 2007- SDS Global Logistics, Inc. (SDS) a regional provider of transportation services recently entered into a management agreement with Global Delivery Systems, LLC (GDS), which provides international wholesale air freight and courier services. Under the agreement, SDS will become the operations agent for the GDS wholesale division. This relationship will open up additional lanes for SDS and increase its presence in the overseas shipping market.
SDS will take on several key GDS employees and account transition will be led by Bruce Benvenuti, the current Vice President of Operations at GDS. Mr. Benvenuti has liked the idea from the start noting that the transition makes sense because SDS already handles most of the lanes we service, has additional services and is located here in Queens. The logistics for a very smooth transition are all in place and there are more services available. SDS also has an excellent reputation in the business, which is critical in wholesale.
John Zahorodny, SDSs Senior Vice President of Worldwide Operations agrees. We are able to service the business to business clientele of GDS without any loss of service to the GDS customer base, or to their customers.
The combined entity will operate out of the SDS headquarters in Long Island City and will use all the existing SDS contact information including phone, fax and web.
SDS (www.sdsgl.com) is a Long Island City based company that provides airfreight and courier; LTL and FTL trucking; New York based pickup and delivery and messenger services as well as warehousing. SDS has been serving the New York area and the courier and freight industry for over 60 years.
