SDS President Inducted Into the Courier Hall of Fame
Long Island City, NY - Summer 2009 - The Messenger Courier Association of the Americas (MCAA) inducted three recipients into the Courier Hall of Fame at their annual conference in Las Vegas on May 15, 2009. SDS President and CEO, Tony Racioppo was among this elite group. The Courier Hall of Fame was established in 2006 to honor the men and women who founded and shaped both MCAA and the industry as a whole The recipients were inducted by Hall Founder and 2008 recipient Gil Carpel who made the following remarks: "Along with the Distinguished Service Award, election to our industry Hall of Fame is the highest honor that our association can bestow. Each year, nominations are received from you, our members, and then the MCAA Board of Directors chooses the annual inductees. The Hall of Fame recognizes those individuals who have made a contribution to our industry as a whole and who have left a legacy to the benefit of us all, both MCAA members and non members. Induction into the MCAA Hall of Fame is recognition by a jury of your peers of your accomplishments and what you have given back to the courier community. If it is true that your family is not only your relatives but your friends and associates and the people you care for, then we here are a family that I am grateful to be part of. I am also lucky to know this year's inductees and members of our MCAA family personally and it is an honor to induct them in front of their peers." Tony is a former MCAA President and past Distinguished Service Award recipient who gained industry prominence when he lead an initiative to working with various industry groups to join as a singular voice to gain more credibility with governmental and business organizations. In addition, it was Tony's job to keep the Association relevant and make sure it was continuing to provide value to help members not only survive, but to prevail in a business environment where the only constant is change.
